FABIENNE C. CHRISTIAN
Founder/Artistic Director
Fabienne C. Christian began her love of classical music at the age of 9 singing the aria “The Italian Street Song.” At the age of 10, she began formal lessons in Houston Texas during the school year and
continued during summer vacation with Mr. Jacob Haywood. She earned her advanced degree in vocal music from the American Conservatory of Music in May 1994.
Ms. Christian has been a member of the Lyric Opera Supplemental Chorus, a member of the Chicago
Symphony Orchestra Chorus under the direction of the late Margaret Hillis, and performed with the CSO
chorus at Ravinia under the direction of world renown Seiji Ozawa. In addition, she has also studied with Lena McLin, niece of Thomas A Dorsey fame and was a member of the McLin Opera ensemble for 7 years. Ms. Christian also portrayed Lydia in the Betty Jackson King opera The Saul of Tarsus, under the direction of Mr. Jacob Haywood, winning accolades from her peers and art critics. Some of her other works have been the Mozart Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, The Seven Last Words of Christ by DuBois, and Verdi’s Requiem.
In addition to singing with the Morgan Park Chancel Choir and Chicago Community Chorus as a soprano
section leader, Ms. Christian continues singing through the Chicagoland area as a soloist giving recitals/concerts.
Ms. Christian is a member of the Chicago Musicians Association.
