Charles T. Hayes, (MA) is a native Chicagoan. Presently he is Director of Music for Maryland Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, MD. Before relocating to Maryland, Mr. Hayes was Director of Music for Chatham Fields Lutheran Church for well over 25 years.
Mr. Hayes has directed and taught at many prestigious schools and colleges as well as providing accompaniment for soloists here in the Chicagoland and Maryland area such as Towson University, Roosevelt University, Studio/Recital/Theater/Opera, DePaul Community Chorus, Chicago Children's Choir, International Choral Symposium, Bayerische Musikacademie in Marktoberdorf, Classical Music Seminar Chorus in Eisenstadt Vienna Austria, Municipal Opera Company of Baltimore, founding director of Chatham Choral Ensemble and guest choral director for Classic Act Choral Ensemble just to name a few.
Jacob Haywood, a world-class musician, has defined his talent by working as a choral director and as an instrumentalist in the Chicagoland area for over 30 years. Mr. Haywood is known for his work throughout the Chicagoland area and has directed several mass choral groups over the years. His work in the community is known to be intergenerationally inclusive and multicultural, multiethnic and multiracial in scope.
Mr. Haywood's experience has included (but is not limited to) the training and development of youth and senior adult choirs. He has conducted choral workshops, which were designed for both community at large and those individuals with musical training and background. He has also conducted workshops, which were focused on vocal tone and production, the explanation of choral literature from the early classics to contemporary musical interpretation and the art of musical interpretation and performance. He has also conducted the Betty Jackson King sacred opera Saul of Tarsus in Oct. 1993.
Mr. Haywood received his musical education at Roosevelt University where he earned both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in organ performance and choral music.
